Their baby was 4-days old before Ashley and Steve finalized her name: Iyla Vue (pronounced I love you). The name was Steve's idea, and it took Ashley those four days to decide that it was a perfect fit.
"I said, 'It's either the greatest name ever or the absolute worst," Scott told People. "I just love it." Now, every time the happy mom says "I love you" to someone, she'll think of her sweet baby girl.
Scott admits that not everyone is enchanted by the unusual moniker, but that doesn't matter to the happy mama. "She's delicate," gushes Scott. "Iyla reminds me of lace for some reason, the eyelet lace. She's just very delicate and quiet and sweet and precious."

We've come to expect the unexpected with celebrity baby names, and Iyla Vue doesn't disappoint. But, isn't it maybe just a little unfair to saddle a child with this clever play on words? "Iyla," by itself, has a romantic quality about it... adding Vue as a middle name seems to make it less charming and more comic.
Not to mention, every mom says "I love you" to their baby ... but most of us don't bash them over the heads by putting it on their birth certificate.
In all fairness, Ashley's baby name choice is not nearly as outrageous as some of the celebrity names we've seen. Just last month, rapper Chief Keef named his son Sno FilmOn Dot Com Cozar, in a shameless attempt to promote an album. And chef Jamie Oliver has an entire brood of not-so-great baby names: Poppy Honey Rosie, Daisy Boo Pamela, Petal Blossom Rainbow and Buddy Bear Maurice!

A baby grows up, and it's important she have a name that will serve her well throughout life. While Iyla Vue is beyond precious for a 5-week-old baby girl, how will it fare on a college resume or job application? Giving a child a name that is too cute may, in the long run, turn out to be burdensome.
There's no doubt that Ashley and Steve (and big sister Ada!) are bursting with love for their new addition, and giving her a name that expresses their joy is such a sweet gesture. Let's hope the world can get on board with "Iyla Vue" and give it the respect that every person's name deserves.
