There's a new Fresh Prince on the block! Actress and singer Tatyana Ali has welcomed her first child — a baby boy — with husband Dr. Vaughn Rasberry.

And he has a classic name: Edward Aszard Rasberry. An English name that has dropped in and out of the baby name chart over the years, Edward means "wealthy guardian" and was the name of several Saxon and eight English kings, as well as being the name of the youngest son of the reigning British monarch, Queen Elizabeth. How appropriate that the new arrival shares his name with a prince, given the show that gave Ali her big acting break.
Despite being such a traditional name, Edward has remained fairly popular in modern times, partly due to Twilight hero Edward Cullen and actors Norton, Burns and Furlong. In 1885, it was the 10th most popular baby boy name in the United States, and it remained in the top 10 until 1930. It has slowly dropped since then, but was still No. 158 in 2015.

Ali, 37, who married Rasberry in July after two years together, spoke of the "bottomless depth of feeling" becoming a mother had opened her heart to. "Through our son, I see the world with new eyes," she said.
The proud new mom, who played Ashley in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, shared regular updates on her Instagram page throughout her pregnancy.

She also blogged during the later stages of her pregnancy and revealed that part of the reason she decided not to find out the sex of her baby was because it was "so much fun" to have friends and family placing bets on whether she would have a boy or a girl.
All bets are off now that her little prince has arrived in the world. Congratulations to the happy family.
